Violet-harbor provides heritage tourism experiences focused on historic lighthouses along Canada's Atlantic coast. Our services include guided tours, educational programs, photography sessions, and overnight experiences at lighthouse sites.
All experiences are subject to availability, weather conditions, and site accessibility.
3. Booking and Reservations
When you submit a reservation request through our website:
- Your request is not confirmed until you receive email confirmation from us
- We reserve the right to accept or decline reservation requests
- All information you provide must be accurate and complete
- You must be at least 18 years of age to make a reservation
- Reservations are non-transferable without our prior approval
4. Pricing and Payment
All prices are displayed in Canadian dollars (CAD) and are subject to applicable taxes. Prices may change without notice, but confirmed reservations will honor the price quoted at the time of booking.
Payment terms and methods will be provided upon reservation confirmation. Full payment is typically required in advance of the scheduled experience.
5. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellations made by participants:
- More than 14 days before scheduled date: Full refund
- 7-14 days before scheduled date: 50% refund
- Less than 7 days before scheduled date: No refund
Cancellations made by Violet-harbor due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances will receive full refunds or the option to reschedule.
6. Participant Responsibilities
Participants agree to:
- Arrive at designated meeting points at the scheduled time
- Follow all safety instructions provided by guides and staff
- Respect historic structures and artifacts
- Dress appropriately for weather and activity conditions
- Disclose any medical conditions or physical limitations that may affect participation
- Behave respectfully toward guides, staff, and other participants
- Not consume alcohol or drugs before or during experiences
We reserve the right to exclude participants who fail to comply with these responsibilities without refund.
7. Assumption of Risk
Participation in lighthouse tours and experiences involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to:
- Uneven terrain and steep stairs
- Exposure to weather conditions
- Travel on coastal paths and elevated structures
- Remote locations with limited immediate access to medical facilities
By participating, you acknowledge these risks and agree to assume responsibility for your own safety and well-being.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Violet-harbor, its owners, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:
- Your use of our website or services
- Personal injury or property damage during experiences
- Cancellations or modifications due to circumstances beyond our control
- Errors or omissions in website content
Our total liability for any claim related to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the specific experience.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on this website, including text, images, graphics, logos, and design elements, is the property of Violet-harbor or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content without our express written permission.
Participants may photograph and record their own experiences for personal use. Commercial use of such materials requires prior written consent.
10. Website Use
When using our website, you agree not to:
- Use the site for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the site
- Interfere with or disrupt the site's operation
- Transmit viruses or malicious code
- Collect or harvest information about other users
- Impersonate any person or entity
11. Photography and Media Release
During experiences, our staff may take photographs or videos for promotional and documentation purposes. By participating, you grant Violet-harbor permission to use such images in marketing materials, website content, and publications unless you notify us in writing of your objection.
12. Modification of Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Your continued use of the website or services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nova Scotia.

15. Force Majeure
